Abstract

This study aims to identify the presence or absence of significant differences in critical thinking skills of students on the material around plane figure through the learning model of Problem Based Learning in the fifth grade of elementary school. Found the problem of low critical thinking ability of students in the material around plane figure. The research method using quantitative methods with sampling techniques nonprobability sampling saturated sampling type. Analysis of data used t-test and N-Gain Test. The population taken by Class V students with a sample of 17 students consisting of 8 women and 9 men. The results of this study showed an increase in critical thinking skills after the application of Problem-Based Learning model on the material aroundplane figure in the fifth grade of Elementary School. Proved using the t test results obtained = 15,338, the results are then compared with the values seen based on df = 16 and the value of GIS.
